2 month check up!

Well, last Thursday I took Jack for his 2 month check up and he did great. He weighs 9 lbs 13 oz and is 22 inches long. Starting from 5 lbs 11 oz and 18 inches long, I think this is pretty good. He gained a little over 4 lbs in 2 months :0) That is strictly nursing too which makes me so happy. I looked back at Hayden's baby book and at her 2 month she only weighed 8 lbs 5.5 oz. He is a pound and a half bigger than she was. Crazy to think that! Anyway, everything was great. He had to get 3 shots and his rotovirus but he did well. It is a lot easier with a newborn than a toddler to give vaccines. We don't go back until he's 4 months and then we will talk about solids. That is crazy to me to even be thinking about that since it just seems like I was pregnant let alone having him here. He is 10 weeks now and so much fun. He smiles at us and holds his head and torso really well. Next things to start getting out are the bumbo seat and exersaucer. Right now Jack loves to eat, eat, eat, he still gets up 2 times in the night to nurse. He also loves his swing, loves for his big sister to talk to him and love on him. He loves his daddy and he loooves his mommy. He is already a mama's baby. I love it and think it is so sweet. He is very cuddly and I am enjoying it because Hayden was not so much. My little angel girl lost my card to my camera so I have not been able to take many pics lately. I will have to get some from my mom and post those. Anyway, I have been back to work a few weeks but have only worked twice. It is going good and I really do enjoy the break. The holidays are upon us and it is going to be so much fun with Hayden this year. More to post on all the festivities later. Life is really great right now!

Little cross eyed in this one!

Here is Jack's 2 month chair picture. We go to the doctor Thursday so I will have his stats to post. He is such a sweet boy!

What's up!

Not a lot has been going on in the month of November, so far. I go back to work on November 28th so I am not looking forward to that. I really should not complain, I am only PRN and am going to work no more than once a week maybe less after the holidays. The New Moon movie is out in 2 weeks and I am so excited. I read all the books at the beginning of the year and saw the first movie. My mom read the books after me and saw the movie so we are both excited to go and see it. I turn into a teenage fan and can't wait to see the second movie. That's what I have to look forward to in the next couple of weeks. I can't wait for Thanksgiving... my cousin and his wife and their 2 kids are coming in from Houston and my mom in hosting it at her house. It should be a really good time and lots of yummy food. I think we are going to go down to White Bluff to the Tennison's that night and stay until Friday. Saturday will be my first day back to work so we can't stay the whole weekend :( I am going to decorate for christmas in the next couple of weeks and go ahead and get it up before Thanksgiving so we can enjoy it a little longer. Plus with 2 kids this year who knows how long it will take me to get it all up. I decorate quite a bit for the holiday so it takes me a whole weekend plus some to get it done. Scott is going to get the outside done this year weather he likes it or not. He has slacked off the last couple of years but this year Hay is old enough to enjoy it so it is getting done. Jack is changing every day and is so much more alert and aware of things. He actually looks at me when I talk to him and I know he wants to say something back or smile, not quite there yet. Hayden is as busy as ever and I am trying to get her in a mothers day out starting after the holidays. She needs the interaction and I need a free couple of days off. We will see, if not this spring then we will do it summer or next fall. I have two full weekends left before work starts so I hope to just enjoy my little family and spend some QT with them. Not much of a weekend so update later. Hope everyone has a good week !!

Jackson!

Well it's about a week late but here is Jack's 1 month picture. I didn't keep up with these very well with Hayden so I am going to try with Jack. He is such a sweet baby. He is so laid back and such a blessing to our family. When I was pregnant with him I couldn't imagine loving another child as much as I love Hayden but as everyone told me you will and it's true. Our hearts just grew and you feel the same about #2 as you do your first. He is more like 5 weeks now and nurses every 3 hours during the day and at night will go 4 hours sometimes. I am ok with that because being that he was a premie he can eat all he wants and pack on the pounds. He really is filling out and I can't wait to see what he weighs at his 2 month check up. Life with 2 is hectic but so much fun. I haven't taken him out much because I don't want to expose him with all this H1N1 going around. It's just not worth it to me. Hayden got the flu when she was 4 months old and I am not going through that again. There is nothing worse than watching your little baby be poked and prodded and things shoved down her nose and held down for xray. No way! I will not go through that again. Anyway, off on that tangent. We are loving life. I go back to work the weekend after Thanksgiving and I am sad but excited to get back to normal. We are pretty sure that we are done with 2 kids since we have our girl and boy. I am just excited to get into a routine again and enjoy life with these 2 angels. I am so looking forward to the holidays. Hayden is much more aware of Santa this year so it should be really fun. I have more fall pics that I will post later.

Trick or Treat

Her haul!
Tinkerbell eating a sucker when we got home
"Trick or Tweet"

This was Hayden's third Halloween but second to go trick or treating. We took her last year but she didn't obviously get the concept since she was just barely 1. This year she had more fun and kept saying one more house and then when we rang the doorbell she would yell "trick or tweet". She was so cute. She dressed up as Tinkerbell and loved her wings and her flower in her hair. It was fun for daddy and mama too because we have candy to eat. Yay! Nana and Papa watched Jack for us so we could stay out a while and really let Hayden enjoy it.

And more pics!

First "real" bath at home.
Worn out!
He was sunning in the window, little yellow ya think?
Sweet big sister
On our way home, yay!

More pics!

Mama's boy already :)

Sister was very interested in the baby
First family pic, it was late just after he was born so Hay was a little cranky and confused.

Pictures

Here are some pictures from when Jack was born and some since we have been home. He has grown so much even since these pics. I will post more in the weeks to come. We are all doing well here. Hayden is such a good big sister and has done really well with her little brother and having to share time with mom and dad.

Jackson Daniel Tennison

Well Jack is here!!! Actually it's been almost 2 weeks but needless to say we have been very busy around here. Life with two is hectic but so much fun. Back to the baby story. I was in preterm labor for a couple of weeks before Jack came so when I went in on Monday September 28th I thought just another checkup. When my doctor checked me I was a good 3 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Since I have my babies very quickly he went ahead and stripped my membranes and figured that would put me into labor that day. He said if it didn't work then I would come back the next morning and do it again. He was sure I would go into labor in the next few weeks. I was 36 1/2 weeks which I was ok with. I had Hayden and 36 weeks and she did fine. Well I went home thinking nothing would happen. I took my shower, ate lunch and laid down with Hayden for a nap. When I woke up it was around 3:15 and I definitely felt something weird going on. I didn't want to panic and since we had already been to Labor and Delivery twice and sent home I was scared to get my hopes up. I waited until 5:00 when Scott got home from work and I told him what was going on. He could clearly see it on my face that this was it. We loaded up Hayden, got my bags and the babies bags and headed out. We got to the hospital at around 6:00 or so and I was exactly the same as the morning but having good regular contractions. They had my walk for an hour and then rechecked me... nothing same as before. The nurse called my doctor and he agreed this was probably it and to keep me. Yay! They started my IV and gave me some Stadol, they figured if maybe I relaxed that I would dilate. They gave me fluids and went ahead and started my epidural. Since I didn't get one with Hay I was very excited. The epidural worked at first or so I thought but I could always move my legs and feel everything. By this time I was on pitocin and the contractions were harder and stronger. I asked the nurse if I should be feeling it and she said I could have another dose. Anyway she checked my again and I was 6 cm, by this time it was about 11 pm or so. In the next hour I started having very hard contractions and we came to the conclusion that the epidural did not work. Uggghhh! The nurse said she would check me and maybe we could do the epidural again... nope. I was dilated to a 10 and ready to push. My doctor was still at the hospital so he came in very quickly. 4 pushes later and baby Jack was here. He was born September 29th at 12:30 a.m. weighing 5lbs 11oz and was 18 inches long. He was perfect. On a side note September 29th is my birthday so what a great present to me. He did so well and we went home on Thursday. We have been settling into this new 2 kids role and are loving it. Hayden is adjusting "ok" and can't quit kissing and hugging her little bro. She gets mad at me and Scott but rather us than the baby. I will post pics when I have a chance just wanted to update. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Oh gosh...

Well we have had a pretty interesting week and it's only Tuesday. I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and I am dilated to a 2 and 50% effaced and he is very low. He put me on the monitor and the baby looked good and not too much going on there. Well, when I got home at about 5 last night, I started bleeding and cramping pretty good and fairly regular. I called my doctor and he said to go up to labor and delivery and get checked out. Nothing had changed with my cervix and I wasn't having very strong contractions though regular. They watched me for a while and sent us home... bummer. Today not too much has been going on. I am still having a bit of cramping on and off but not too much else going on. So we are just waiting. I go back to the doctor on Friday so we will see. Keep everyone posted!

Waiting around...

Well, I went to the doc Friday afternoon and I am dilated 1 1/2 cm and 20% effaced and he could feel his head so he is really low. Dr. Dotson thinks it will be sometime this next week if not before. I am only 35 weeks so I would like him to go to the end of the week but I know babies have a mind of their own. Hayden came at 36 weeks so I at least want him to be that far along. I go back on Monday so we will know more then. In the meantime I feel like a ticking time clock. He put me on "bedrest" sort of, he doesn't think I need to be on my feet for that long or he would definitely come on out. Hayden came in about 2 hours from my first contraction so I want to be ready and prepared this time. More updates after my appointment tomorrow.

2 year check up

The little princess this morning before we left for the doctor

Hayden had her 2 year check up this morning. She did pretty good, except for the shots. She had to have 3 shots and she screamed and held her breath until her lips turned blue. It was so sad :( I picked her up when they finished and she just kept saying "all done, all done" It was so pitiful. Her weight is 22.8 lbs (5th percentile) her length is 33 (25th percentile) and her head is in the 70th percentile but I can't remember what the measurement was. She is still a tiny peanut but at least we are on the chart this time. At her 18 month visit she was not even on the chart so yay! She has a small murmer which kind of freaks me out but the nurse practitioner said it was nothing to worry about that we would just watch it. My poor baby was so upset after her shots so we came home and had a sucker and watched her favorite show. She gets to go see her Nana and Papa in a little bit so that will make her happy too. Mommy has her appt this afternoon too so we will see how the blood pressure is and make sure all is well with Jack. He will probably be here in 3 weeks or less. OH MY GOSH! Tomorrow is another one of my showers so I am super excited. More updates later. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Birthday Party!

Opening her gifts!
Hayden and Maryn eating at the cute little bistro table from Bubbles and Pa.
She blew out her candles all by herself. We had a Minnie Mouse theme (of course) it's her favorite right now.

Saturday we had Hayden's 2nd birthday party. It was very low key and just family. We had Nana and Papa, Uncle Casey and Aunt Liz, Uncle Matty and Lindsey, Mimi and Gaga, Bubbles and Pa, Aunt Amy and Uncle Jason, and Maryn and Carter. It was so nice and everyone was so sweet to come. It was raining terribly so just like her party last year no one got to swim. We were supposed to BBQ and swim but the smoker would not stay lit and obviously we aren't going to swim in the downpour. Oh well, we had fun anyway. We ended up getting food from Spring Creek and everyone brought something. It really helped me out since I was not feeling well and had the whole blood pressure issue going on. She got lots of fun toys and cute clothes. She is one lucky girl to have so many people that love her. I've said it several times but I can't believe she is already two years old and going to be the big sister in just a few short weeks. We just love our little angel.

Drama!

OK, we had a bit of drama and worry over the weekend. Friday I had my Dr. appt and when they checked my blood pressure it was high... great! My urine also had some protein in it and just the day before I was complaining of blurry vision and my hands have been so swollen. All these are textbook signs of preeclampsia. My doctor did some labwork and said he wanted to start monitoring me twice a week and to come back on Monday. He said if my labs were abnormal that we may have to induce. I was freaking out because as a NICU nurse I know that a 34 weeker does ok but would have to probably stay in the hospital for a bit. Well over the weekend we had Hayden's birthday party, lots of family in so I didn't rest much. I took my blood pressure several times and it was ok but I felt like a ticking time bomb and my sweet husband kept telling me to sit down and rest, yeah right with a two year old. Anyway, I went in yesterday and my blood pressure was better and my labs were all normal. He hooked my up to the fetal monitor and we watched for a half hour or so and everything looked good. Jack was moving just a much as ever and his heart rate was good too. I did have some contractions but nothing to put me into labor over. He is going to see my twice a week and monitor the baby closely and my blood pressure and urine. I do not want another premie. Even though Hayden only had to stay two extra nights after I was discharged it was still the worst ever. I want to bring my baby home when I leave this time. I just have to take it easy and I am watching my diet as much as I can and trying to stay stress free, yeah right! I am only gonna work a few more days I think and then hopefully have him around 37-38 weeks. We will see though, it's an appt to appt thing. Anyway, just had to share our latest baby drama. Hope everyone has a good week and will update as needed.

34 weeks!

34 weeks today! Getting anxious! I have a doctors appt this afternoon so that's always exciting to see where we are and how everything is going. I have had lots of pressure and pain the last few days and I know it is just because I have been on my feet alot and I am getting much bigger. Jack is still moving and as active as ever. He moves nonstop so I hope that is not an indication of his personality and that I am going to have another busy one. Oh well, it's so much fun that way. I haven't posted any preggo pics so here is one at 33 weeks and 4 days. Hopefully, he will come around 38 weeks so that is not too much longer. Can't wait to meet our new man.

Hayden's Birthday!

Hayden and I going out for her birthday dinner.
On the train ride at the zoo. She loved it!
Mommy and Hayden at the elephants
Daddy and Hay at the monkeys
The BIRTHDAY GIRL! Her BFF Ty.

Hayden Kate Tennison turned 2 years old on Wednesday September 9. I am sad but it is so much fun having a 2 year old. She is lots of work but lots of fun too. Her little personality is so cute and she says the funniest things. We started out the day by going to get doughnuts from her favorite doughnut shop and then we headed to the zoo. I was a little worried how she would do but she was such a good girl and enjoyed it so much. It was not crowded at all and she was able to walk on her own quite a bit without tons of people around for her to get lost in. She rode in her stroller alot and of course wanted Daddy to hold her too. She saw all her favorite animals that she had been talking about before we went and talked non stop about them. Scott and I had not been in years so we had a good time too. We came home and got Hayden down for a nap and mommy and daddy enjoyed the rest too. Bubbles and Pa came in that night and we went to dinner at Saltgrass. Again, Hayden was such a good girl. Going out to eat has not been so much fun lately with a toddler but she was an angel and ate good and behaved well. She spent the night with Nana and Papa and they had a little cake for her. It was so cute and she blew out both candles all by herself. It was a great day and I hope my little angel enjoyed it too. I can't believe 2 years have gone by since I had her, it feels just like yesterday but then at the same time we don't know what we ever did before her. Ready for the next round of baby. Not long and Hayden will be a big sister. Love to everybody!

Over it!

OK, so I am pretty much over this pregnancy. I have not felt as well this time and it has just been harder. I know it's because I have a 2 year old and I can't just lay around all day if I want. I am almost 34 weeks and feel every second of it. I am so blessed to have 2 healthy pregnancies but I am over this one. I just can't wait to meet Jack and get back to some what normal. Scott and I were talking about that last night and he said " I don't think we will ever be normal again", in a good way though. For those that don't know there were like 16 of us at work that were all preggo at the same time and due all pretty close to each other... well girls are starting to have their babies and I am ready for my turn. I know I don't want him to come before 37 weeks because I don't want a wimpy white boy but I am just anxious and impatient. I know he will come when he is ready and I should enjoy these last few weeks with 1 child and soak up every ounce of Hayden while I can. I just needed to rant about that.

On a much more fun note, our little princess will be 2 tomorrow. Daddy is taking off the day and we are going to the zoo. It will be Hayden's first time to go to the zoo and I know she will love it. Scott and I haven't been in years so I am excited too. We are going to start the day off with her favorite doughnuts at the local shop and then head to the zoo. Scott's parents are coming in and we are going to dinner and then Saturday we are having family over for a small birthday party. Can't wait and it should be a blast. Tonight, I get a mommy's night out. Me and some girls from work are going out to eat at my fav Abuelos just for a "Jack" celebration. I told them since they gave me such a beautiful shower when I was pregnant with Hayden that we would just make this low key and hang out. I am really excited to just sit back, enjoy my dinner and catch up on much needed girl time. Daddy is keeping Hayden so it will be really nice. Can't wait and I will post birthday pics when I can.

Bowling

Hayden enjoying the birthday cake at the party!
She would roll the ball and then turn and walk away before it would hit the pins. 2 year old attention spans!
Mommy (31 weeks), Nana and Hayden

Last weekend we went to a birthday party for my little cousin Bryanna. It was at Alley Cats bowling alley and it was a lot of fun. Hayden had a great time. It was her first time to bowl and I had not been in years. We started out great but by the end of the party she was over it and threw a huge tantrum in the middle of the games and we had to leave. Oh, the joys of having a two year old, unfortunately you are on their schedule. We had fun anyway fit and all. Daddy didn't get to go because he had to replace a busted water heater. FUN! It busted Monday and we were without hot water for the week. Hayden and mommy went over to Nana and Papa's for showers and daddy just sucked it up... he's crazy! It's all fixed now and we are back to normal. This week and weekend will be fun. I work tomorrow :( Thursday I am going to pick up Hayden's and my dresses for the wedding so that will be fun. Friday I have a Dr. appt and we are doing a sono so we will get to see our little man. Saturday I have a shower thrown by my aunt and cousin so I am really excited about that. After that I don't work until next Saturday and I will enjoy the much needed break. These are some pics from bowling, more to come after our fun week.

30 weeks!

30 weeks and counting! Just 10 more weeks to go, but hopefully more like 8. Friday I was officially 30 weeks and it feels like the last big milestone. I went to the Dr. on Tuesday and everything is going great. I was a little anemic so they started me on iron supplements. Great! That added with the prenatals is just wonderful. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do. Baby looks good so far, and now I start my every 2 week visits. I go back on the 28th and he is doing a sono so we are very excited about that. My doctor is thinking since I had Hayden a month early that I "shouldn't" go past the 38th week. That is just what he is thinking, not for sure so I hope so. I just want Jack to be healthy and I know he will come when he is ready. The nursery is still a work in progress but it is getting there and I will post pics when it is done. More preggo news later!

Miss Hayden will be 2 years old on the 9th and I can't believe it. I am excited but sad at the same time. It has flown by and I can't believe I have a 2 year old. Her birthday party is going to be very low key. Just close family and we are doing it here at the house with a BBQ and swimming. I know she won't really know anyway but I still have to do a theme. She is really into Minnie Mouse so we are doing hot pink and black with Minnie Mouse decorations. Should be very cute and I hope she loves it. We are entering the terrible two's and it has been rough. She is learning her boundries and pushing them a bit. I really think I am going to have my hands full in October. Oh well, we wouldn't have it any other way and I am just so excited to complete my little family of four. Yes, we are pretty sure this is it and we will be done. More later and I hope everyone has a good week.

Walnut Springs

We hung out in the front yard a lot and Hayden played in her little pool.
She ended up naked in the pool by the end of the day. It was so hot anyway I wished I could jump in with her.
Poor Bo! That cat got so many hugs and loves from Hayden and he was so good with her. She just loved him. Mimi got her those cool new Mickey Mouse sunglasses which she hardly took off. He is her idol after all :)

Several weeks ago Hayden, my mom and I went to Mimi and Grandaddy's house for the weekend. It was so nice and relaxing. We just hung out outside, talked, and laid back. We went for two nights and Hayden had a blast. She always likes going there because they have two kitties that she can not stop messing with. Luckily the kitties love her too and allow her to play with them and hug them constantly. Here's a few pics from the weekend.

Busy Summer!

I have not posted in so long... we have been super busy this summer. Not only preparing for a new baby but my brother is getting married in October and we have showers and parties and shopping. Lots of fun and no complaints here because it has made this pregnancy fly. I am 28 1/2 weeks and can't believe it. Everything is going beautifully with the pregnancy. Jack is growing and moves like crazy which kind of scares me because I wonder if that is how his personality will be. Hayden is already a busy kid so to have two like that is going to be crazy. Oh well, we wouldn't have it any other way. We have been getting the nursery ready and fixing up Hayden's room at the same time. She has a big girl bed now and her room is really really cute. I will post pics when we get farther with the nursery. We have been in organization mode at our house. We had a garage sale and cleared out a lot and have totally organized our closets and my holiday decorations that used to be in the guest room which is now Jack's room. Oh my gosh, it was very overwhelming but it is getting there. I want to have my house straight before my sis n law's shower here on the 15th. We literally have something every weekend until the baby comes, and I am working a couple of days during the week as long as I physically can. Not to mention Hayden will be two in a month so I am planning her birthday. WOW! I love this time in our lives and if this is our last I want to enjoy it as much as possible. I also want to spend as much time with Hayden as we can before we have two to share our attention with. I still feel like she is little and needs me so so much. I feel a little guilty sometimes but this is how we wanted it, two years apart. Anyway, lots going on at the Tennison's and much more to come in the next couple of months. We are so excited to meet our baby boy and can't wait until he is here. Hope everyone has a good week!

More 4th fun...

Sitting in Daddy's truck waiting on the fireworks.
Wow! She was trying to jump out of the truck so Daddy had to hold her.
Mommy and Hayden watching, baby Jack in mommy's tummy.
Hayden getting ready to go see the fireworks. She was all decked out in her red, white and blue, with of course bow to match.
